We are experiencing an increasing trend for companies to manage VAT compliance obligations in house in order to minimize costs. However, simple VAT compliance tasks may lead to significant VAT risks and penalties if not handled timely and correctly. This course which is complementary to the PwC’s Academy's Course "Basic Principles of VAT (for beginners)", builds upon the principles discussed during the first course and aims to provide participants with the advanced understanding of VAT principles to enable proper handling of VAT Compliance obligations and enable basic VAT structuring ideas. This course can be taken together with the "Basic Principles of VAT" course or on its own for participants who already have a basic understanding of VAT.

Who should attend the seminar?

The programme is addressed to persons working in accounting departments of companies and/or financial controllers who wish to be able to handle VAT compliance tasks (e.g. preparation of VAT, VIES and Intrastat returns etc.) and identify transactions which give rise to VAT risks and obligations.
