Best Tall Building in Europe 2016 award for White Walls – home to EY Cyprus Nicosia Office

Jean Nouvel’s White Walls, home to EY Cyprus’ Nicosia Office since November 2014, has been named the Best Tall Building in Europe 2016, by the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH). It was selected among 132 buildings due to its distinctive characteristics, including the natural flow of light, perforated walls, lofty balconies and the internal espaliered gardens.

The building is 67-meter-high and is one of the tallest structures in Cyprus.

White Walls won the award against competition from a large number of significant European buildings, including the European Central Bank Tower in Frankfurt, the Allianz Tower in Milan, the Grattacielo Intesa Sanpaolo Torino in Turin, and the Allianz Tower in Istanbul.  In November 2016, the Main Jury of the CTBUH will announce the winner of the Best Tall Building Worldwide from among the four regional award winners: White Walls representing Europe, Via 57 West representing the Americas, the Shanghai Tower representing Asia and Australasia, and the Cube representing the Middle East and Africa.

This gem of a building was chosen in 2014 to house the new Nicosia head office of EY Cyprus. The choice of Jean Nouvel Tower was in line with EY’s global operating model and the broader concept of a “Workplace of the Future”, based on both its unique aesthetic and its enhanced functionality that encourages teaming, flexibility and collaboration.
