Global and National distinctions for PwC’s Trainee Accountants

PwC Cyprus’ trainee accountants achieved once again important distinctions in the professional examinations of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).

Sofia Papageorgiou achieved first place worldwide in ICAEW’s Financial Accounting and Reporting examinations. It is worth noting, that in previous exams she achieved the first worldwide prize in Audit & Assurance.

An important distinction was also achieved by Vitalli Aleksandrov, who achieved first place in Cyprus and 9th worldwide in the ACCA’s Audit and Assurance exam.

Additionally, in the same exams, Kyrylo Tarnoplskyi, Marios Gkikas and Dmitry Chistyakov, achieved first place in Cyprus in Advanced Financial Management, Governance, Risk & Ethics and Financial Management respectively, while also achieving 12th, 15th and 29th place worldwide.

A noteworthy achievement is the fact that two of PwC Cyprus’ trainee accountants achieved first and second place respectively amongst the top 3 ACCA Affiliates in Cyprus. First place was achieved by Marianna Shynkar, who had previously received the first place in Advanced Performance Management at Pancyprian level, while Kristina Karmanova took the second place. 

At an event that took place on 14 December 2016, PwC Cyprus honoured the above trainee accountants in the presence of its CEO, Evgenios Evgeniou and the Headof Human Capital Philippos Soseilos. During the event, Mr Evgeniou stated that: “The high quality of services that define our organisation, are inextricably linked with its exceptional human resources. This is why continuous education and professional training is a priority for us”.
