Limassol Marina's Official Opening

The Official Opening of Limassol Marina, the island’s most ambitious project to date, took place on the 19th of June in an impressive setting and in the presence of the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Mr Nicos Anastasiades.

During the opening ceremony, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Limassol Marina Ltd, Mr Marios E. Lanitis, stated the following:

“Limassol Marina is an incredibly unique development, one that is significantly boosting the competitiveness of the Cypriot economy, further improving its image, creating new job opportunities, upgrading the area of the historic centre of Limassol and offering an incentive for investments in the wider region. Limassol has now obtained a Marina of high standards, which compares very favourably with other marinas abroad, while being a point of reference for the wider Eastern Mediterranean region”.

Regarding the experience acquired during the design and implementation of the project, he also mentioned: “Through the course of time, our experience has revealed the necessity for a legislation that will enable the creation of a “one-stop-shop” service, which will manage such investments in an efficient way, avoiding bureaucratic procedures”.

Shortly after, the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Mr. Nicos Anastasiades, addressed his speech and expressed his admiration for this outstanding project of multi-dimensional importance for our country and congratulated the shareholders of the owning company: Cybarco, member of the Lanitis Group of Companies, J&P, J&P Avax and Athena, members of the Joannou & Paraskevaides Group, Francoudi & Stephanou Group and the companies CADS and LMDC. Referring to the stakeholders of the project, he emphasised the fact that during the construction period, they were worthy of their “vision, love for the Project, as well as commitment, hard work, patience and perseverance and believed from the very beginning in the success of a development of such a major importance and size."

“I would like to underline the fact that the aforementioned virtues that characterise the stakeholders of this outstanding project – the vision, commitment, hard work and perseverance – are the recipe for success for all the progressive businesses of Cyprus. It is the invaluable guide of Cypriot entrepreneurship, which, especially during this difficult economic period, attempts to overcome the challenges we face today in order to put Cyprus back on track for growth and prosperity”.

Following his address, the President of the Republic and the shareholders of the Project unveiled the inaugural plaque, marking the official opening of Limassol Marina.

Limassol Marina, a milestone project for Cyprus, has already changed the face of the town and has established itself as one of the most attractive and unique projects across Europe. Boasting a capacity of 650 berths, able to accommodate yachts between 8m and 115m, Limassol Marina is the first superyacht marina in Cyprus. It combines luxury apartments and exclusive villas with private berths or direct access to the beach. Sales of the residences are continuing at a highly satisfactory pace and have so far exceeded €130 million.

Following the arrival of the first residents and yachts, Limassol Marina is now open to the public, both local visitors and tourists, offering them a taste of “living on the sea”. Several restaurants and bars are already operating such as: Pyxida Fish Tavern, Wagamama, TGI Friday’s, Pizza Hut, KFC, Derlicious, Caffé Nero, Hobo Mediterraneo, Marina Cool Bar, Café Calma, The Yacht Club and Crystal Marina Lounge, member of the Breeze Group. Very soon, a Carob Mill Restaurant, various shops, the spa and fitness club will also be available for all to enjoy.
