A total of 80% of the adult population had received at least the first dose of a Covid vaccine, the health ministry said on Tuesday.

Some 170,000 flu vaccines will be delivered to Cyprus within the next 15 days and the Health Ministry is now planning the best way these should be distributed.

Following a decision of the Council of Ministers, dated 18 February 2021, regarding the Action Plan for the gradual resumption of flights and the reopening of airports, the Epidemiological Surveillance Unit of the Ministry of Health re-evaluated the epidemiological picture of the 19 different countries. The changes take effect on Thursday, September 16, and are as follows:

Transavia, which flies to/from Cyprus from Amsterdam, is planning to boost its flights to twice per week in the winter, and once per day in the summer. This is a return to the same levels as in 2019, the company said in an email.

Vaccination centres will now operate on Saturdays from September 11 onwards to better cater to school children, the health ministry announced on Thursday.

More than 660 vaccinations with the third dose have been carried out so far at nursing homes and according to planning, vaccinations will continue with health professionals.
